Community service and juvenile community service

Community service is an obligation to perform certain unpaid work during a particular time.

A person sentenced to community service serves her/his sentence through working, for example, for an association or a not-for-profit organisation.

Juvenile community service

A person under the age of 21 years can be sentenced to juvenile community service if this is appropriate and if the offender consents.

A person sentenced to juvenile community service serves his/her sentence by performing unpaid work for a certain number of hours.
